How to Enable Square Terminal on POS

This article helps you configure Square terminal on the POS

Instructions

After you have completed configuring Square in the Backend, log in to Magestore POS, then go to Settings page > Payment > Square Terminal to pair POS with Square terminal

Simulator Mode

Used for testing without physical device

Device ID

Used when you are in simulator mode

Square Location

Auto pre-filled Square Location that is mapped to current POS Location

Device Name

  • Used to set device name

  • Read-only if the device code is already present

  • This field will be hidden if turn Simulate Mode off

Device Code

  • Device code will receive from Square terminal after clicking on the

Request A Device Code button

  • This field is only visible if the device code is already present

  • This field will be hidden if turn Simulate Mode off

Status

  • Show the status of pairing

  • This field is visible if the device code is already present

  • This field will be hidden if turn Simulate Mode off

Expiration Time

  • Show the expiration time of device code

  • This field will be hidden if the device code was paired

 You need to enter the device name, then click on the Request A Device Code button to get the device code and pair POS with the Square terminal by using the device code to sign in on the terminal.

After pairing the terminal and POS, POS will listen from webhook then mark the terminal as already been connected, so the cashier can use Square terminal payment.

If you want to create a new device code, you can click the Remove Device Code button to remove the current device code then request a new device code again.

For testing, if you don’t have the physical Square Terminal device, we can turn the simulator mode on and enter a device ID (get from Square sandbox test value), and you now can test the Square payment processes without a physical Square Terminal device

After completing configure the Square terminal on POS, you now can process checkout, take payment, refund with this payment method.

You can only make a refund of the order with this payment method if that order is paid by this payment before
