I/ Overview
1/ As a store/ regional manager, you would like to view Location Breakdown report in the Backend so that you can get insights into each location and make decisions to improve sales operations

Instead of having to navigate through different pages to check the performance of a store, this report provides you with all the important metrics of a store on 1 main page. This makes comparing easy between revenue & COGS and profit. By that you can determine if the profit margin is too low or already effective.

2/ To access the Location Overview report:

1 - On the Left Menu, click on Omni-channel Reports

2 - Go to POS > Location Breakdown

Alternative Path: Go to Omni-channel Reports > Report Dashboard > All reports > POS reports > Location breakdown

The Location Breakdown Report page is displayed with the default view as below:

3/ Report details

On the main page, you can select metrics of the orders you would like to see in the report, based on the information you would like to see, including:

a. Date used:

You can select either Order Created or Order Updated

...

By Default, the setting would be Order Created

  • Order Created : Show report based on the date order is created

  • Order Updated: Show report based on the date order is last updated

The Order Updated report is created in real time and does not require a refresh

b. Location: 

In this dropdown, you will select the location for which you would like to check the details of the sales performance.

c. Period
As you would like to see the sales separated by day/week/month to have a more thorough sales recap, for example, normally your sales shall be higher in Dec due to the year-end Christmas Sale; in such a case you would prefer to see sales result by month to easily compare. In another example, you run the promotion campaign in several days, so you would like to check which day of the week earns the highest result.

In the drop-down, you can select Day/Month/Week based on your needs. 

Please note that for Week/ Month/Year the value may vary:

  • First day of the week: Fixed value is  Sunday 

  • You can create the config to choose "First day of week" to be either Monday or Sunday (optional) (as in some countries the first day of the week shall be Sunday).

  • For Month/ Year, you can config the date when a Month/ Year starts from under Backend > Store > Configuration > General > Reports > Dashboard: Current Month (Year) Starts

d. Time range

Once the period has been selected, you can set the time range in which you want to see all the orders for. The pre-set ranges are Today (by default), Yesterday, Last 7 days, Last 30 days, This year, Last year, in case you want to have a quick view, yet in case you want to check a specific time range outside the above, i.e a special promotion period (Christmas & New Year), you can select Custom Range and set it From a date To another specific one. 

e. Data detail

  • Interval: the specific day or a period of time of the selected location

  • Orders: Show the number of orders counted from POS with the selected status during the defined period.

  • Tax: Let you know tax amount during the defined time range; which equals tax invoiced minus tax refunded. You can then check the tax total you need to file for. 

  • Discount: All discount amount during the defined time period, with the same formula. By seeing this, you can check if you're giving too much or too less discount, which affects the sales flow. 

  • Refund: The total refund to customers during the selected period. 

Then come more important metrics:

  • Revenue: Calculated based on total invoiced sales, excluding tax, refund and shipping fee. 

  • Average Order Value: Show you the average order amount when a customer walks in and buys. If this is small, then you may find some way to push it higher by discount on bulk purchase/ recommending related products, or change your store display layout, etc. 

  • COGS: Cost of good solds on the order items. This helps to check the base cost of goods on the order, versus the total sales (revenues). Each industry shall have its own benchmark. If this is too high you may have little room for other costs only. 

  • Profit: The most important metric. As a store manager, you must be really concerned about this. This equals total paid minus tax, shipping, refunded, and COGS.

  • Profit Margin: Show you the proportion of Profit/ Revenue. This also depends on the business you're in, but surely not supposed to be too low - as your business must prove its efficiency of capital used.

  • Total: Show the total values of each column

II/ Filter Report Data

In this report, you can select different options to customize the view, by select the Column, filter or even export to csv file in case you need to input this to your accounting or any other third party software that allows importing
