Before you start
For the setup of the printer, we will need the test receipts.
To perform a hardware test on your printer, follow these 5 following steps.
Turn off the Star printer.
Press and hold the feed button.
Turn the printer back on.
Continue to hold the feed button until the Network Configuration report prints out. This will print out two test receipts. At the bottom of the second page, it will show Current IP Parameters Status. Keep this page or note down the IP Address.
Confirm the printer’s IP address.
Importatnt:
Your IP address will likely be different to the one listed in the picture above.
Setting up WebPRNT
Here you can take the following actions to set up the device successfully:
Open your web browser and type in the Star printer’s IP address into the URL field
Log in to the Star Network Utility using these credentials
User: root
Password: publicClick on WebPRNT in the left side menu.
The WebPRNT Service field should show ENABLE. If it doesn’t, please switch it to ENABLE.
TCP Port Number should be 80Click submit
Select Save
Chose the option Save > Configuration printing > Restart device and then click Execute.
The receipt printer should restart now and print a new configuration report.
Setting up SSL/TLS
Open your web browser and type in the Star printer’s IP address into the URL field
Log in to the Star Network Utility using these credentials
User: root
Password: publicOn SSL/TLS in the left side menu, click on Create Self-Signed Certificate/CSR Button.
Enter in the available fields with your local information.
Domain should match the IP Address of the printer.
Click Create button and wait for success screen.
Select the option Previous Page, the Certificate Form will appear blank and click Download then.
After download certificate file, on browser, click SSL/TLS > SSL/TLS Setting
Set SSL/TLS to Enable
TCP Port to 8443
Certificate to Self-signed
Click Submit
Select Save
Chose the option “Save ⇒ Configuration printing ⇒ Restart device”,
Click Execute.
Add IP Address to trusted IPs
In Mac
Double-click the self-signed certificate to open it in Keychain Access. (The self-signed certificate appears in login must of the times)
If not already in the System, copy the self-signed certificate to System. (Locate in Keychain list and drag & drop to the system)
Open the self-signed certificate in System, expand Trust, select Use System Default, and save your changes.
Reopen the self-signed certificate in System, expand Trust, select Always Trust, and save your changes.

In Window
1.Double-click the self-signed certificate
Click Install Certificate…
Click Next
Select “Place all certification in following store”
Browse… to Trust Root Certification Authorities
Click Next
Click Finish

Click Install on install Podfile
Click DoneOpen Settings on Ipad > Click General -> About -> Certificate Trust Settings
Turn on item reference to IP Address of Printer

Enable WebPRNT On POS
After successfully setting up the printer, we have to connect the printer to the POS.
Log into the POS, open the side menu on the left and click Settings
Click Printer ⇒ Star WebPRNT Printer
Enable and fill out your printer’s IP address and port = 443 (which you got from the steps above)
Click the
Check button at the bottom of the page. If the printer prints out a receipt that reads “PWA POS test” then the printer is successfully set up and you can use it.
