How to configure set up the Star TSP100III printer with Mac through Ethernet

Before you start

For the setup of the printer, we will need the test receipts.

To perform a hardware test on your printer, follow these 5 following steps.

  1. Turn off the Star printer.

  2. Press and hold the feed button.

  3. Turn the printer back on.

  4. Continue to hold the feed button until the Network Configuration report prints out. This will print out two test receipts. At the bottom of the second page, it will show Current IP Parameters Status. Keep this page or note down the IP Address.

Setting up the printer:

Here you can take the following actions to set up the device successfully:

  1. Download the latest printer driver (Mac version) for your computer on the Star’s website

  2. Extract the file that was downloaded

After extracting that file, you need to double-click on the package file in the “Driver” folder. After that, you just need to follow the install guide instructions

  1. After installing the driver successfully, you need to follow these steps to set up successfully for the printer:

  • Navigate to the “System Preferences

  • Open the “Printer & Scanners

  • After the “Printers & Scanners” popup show, clicking on the “+” icon to open the Add Printer popup

  • Fill in the Address field the IP address in the second test receipt, and then confirm whether the IP address in the Name field matches the IP address in the second test receipt or not.

  • Select the information for the Protocol and Use fields that is the same as the below pictures (In the Name field, you can change the name of the printer if you want)

  • Click on the Add button to complete the set up for the printer
